What should I expect for my first class?
Please arrive 30 minutes early. We’ll e-mail you a waiver the night before, please read and sign before class. Once you arrive we’ll go through a quick boxing & class format tutorial. We'll walk you through everything so you feel totally comfortable before you start!

Where should I park?
Check out our parking info here!

What should I wear/bring to class?
Wear exercise clothes and shoes you're comfortable moving around in. You'll want to make sure to drink plenty of water. We recommend that you leave any valuables at home.

What if I’ve never boxed before?
All of our classes are designed to accommodate people of all levels, including beginners! When you check-in 30 min early for your first class, we'll wrap your hands and give you a breakdown of boxing basics so you know what to expect. Most newcomers to our studio are also brand new to boxing!

Do I need my own boxing gloves and wraps?
We do have both available to rent or purchase here at the studio. We also made a great instructional video detailing how to wrap your hands, click here to watch and learn.

Is there a shower at Prevail?
WEHO: Yes! But please bring your own towel.

NOHO: No Showers.

What if I'm running late to class?
Give us a call at (323) 452-0101 and we'll hold your spot for up to 5 minutes into class time. If you're not here at the start of class time and we don't know that you're on your way, your spot may be given away to a standby student. If it's your first time, we'll do our best to accommodate you as long as you arrive 10 minutes before class time.

What if I need to cancel a class?
No problem! You may cancel a class in the Prevail Boxing app or online here up to 12 hours before the class with no penalty. For any private or semi-private training sessions, there is a 24-hr cancellation policy. Are there any age limits?
Our classes are open to students ages 16+. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be physically present with you to sign a waiver before your first class, with no exceptions. [Sorry - nannies or friends’ parents are not permitted to sign the waiver for a minor unless they show proof of power of attorney.]

If I haven’t exercised in a while, am I going to be able to keep up?
Yes! We're honored to be the first stop on your fitness journey. We recognize that everyone has different challenges and capabilities, and we're always here to encourage you to do your best.

What if I have an injury? Or if I'm pregnant?
If you have a previous injury or are pregnant, we ask that you consult your doctor before starting any exercise program. Assuming you get the OK to work out with us, we will work with you to modify exercises so you can still get a good, safe sweat in!

Am I really going to learn how to box? Will I ever have to fight against an opponent?
We train you with the same techniques we would train a fighter – knowing that (probably) isn’t your goal. You will learn proper boxing form and technique without the threat of actually ever having to fight in a ring.

Doesn’t boxing give you bulky muscles?
That’s a common myth, but it’s far from the truth! Boxing is the ultimate leaning full-body workout – you burn 500+ calories per class in this fun cardio class. Our workouts are designed to tone your core while sculpting long, lean muscles.

Can I leave my child/dog/bunny/etc. in your lobby space while I work out?
As much as we LOVE your families, unfortunately, we're not able to allow parents to leave their children or animals unattended in the front room during a workout.
